In reply to your letter 15132/1916 dated the
7th instant, I am directed by Secretary Bir E. Grey
to state that, pending the issue of a Statutory List of
enemy persons and firms and persons and firms having
enemy associations in Japan with whom trading is pro-
hibited under the Trading with the Enemy (Extension
of Powers) Act 1915, which is in course of preparation
and will shortly be published in the London Gazette, he
concurs in the instructions given by the Governor of
Hongkong to the Cable Censor with regard to letters and telegrams to and from enemy subjecte in Japan.
